About the company

With over 20 years of experience exporting honey to North and South America, Europe and Asia, Matrunita is a company specialized in sourcing and selling essentially organic products. Located in the Brazilian Northeast, the most appropriate region for the production of organic honey, the company has as principle the valorization of family agriculture beekeepers, who at no time use pesticides in the honey harvest. Matrunita prioritizes the production of the Northeast Region for its qualitative and quantitative potential. The region, for being free of intensive agriculture, preserves its blooms without the use of fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides or fungicides, therefore free of agrotoxics. In this way, the Africanized bee, which inhabits the Brazilian Northeast on a large scale, is very resistant to diseases, completely nullifying the use of antibiotics by beekeepers and never producing transgenic flowering honey. The caatinga, a vegetal formation that exists exclusively in Brazil, and on a larger scale in the Northeast, keeps this strong characteristic: it has a very diversified flowering and quality in the production of a unique honey and of great acceptance on the international market.

Matrunita has a very significant social role for the beekeepers and the people who live around the apiaries. Through incentives in the construction of water tanks, toilets, sewers or any other work that can benefit the quality of life of the beekeepers' families. In addition, bees naturally play an extremely important role in environmental preservation, the perpetuation of species and the flowering of plants, playing the role of multiplying agent of native vegetation and ensuring more quality of life for the planet.

Our Origins

The company was created in 2012, a subsidiary of the secular Parodi Group, Matrunita da Amazônia was created with the intention of increasing both the production and export of organic honey from the Northeast of Brazil. Thus, the company has invested in technology and training to maintain the quality of the production of the apiaries in the Northeast of Brazil. Always encouraging the beekeepers, passing on technology and teachings to improve each day, and also, always concerned with the social aspect, Matrunita invests in a very professional way in the improvement of the honey harvest, as well as in the genetic improvement of the bees because the success of a good honey production is in the periodic exchange of the queen bee.
